An erotic horror short story…
Sometimes revenge can only be achieved with magic.
Laura and Julian Bennet were husband and wife Egyptologists who were looking for an ancient tomb of a lost pharaoh’s lesser wife…one who’d been so evil and destructive her grave has no name; she has no name. Legend and rumors said she’d been a stunningly beautiful and sensual sorceress who’d once had her lover, Rameses II, under her evil spell until the more powerful Priests of Amun captured and locked her into a magical sarcophagus for eternity–or so they’d believed. But when Laura and Julian found her tomb, the price it cost them was far more than they’d been prepared to pay. Julian’s life. Then Laura, heartbroken, had to delve into the most dangerous of black magics to defeat The Nameless One, extract revenge, and put the demon back where she belongs.

The Nameless One is a short horror story set in Egypt. It follows husband and wife, Laura and Julian Bennet, who are Egyptologists looking for an elusive tomb. The book blurb leaves little left to explore when you actually read the book, but given its length, that's not entirely unexpected.
The pace felt a little fast, some of the richness of Egypt missing because of this and the writing style. There wasn't a lot of time given to building up the world around Laura and Julian, which I felt was quite a shame.
If given a bit more sensory information, this story could have been very creepy and horrific.
This is marketed as an erotic horror, but the erotic content is very light on and no great detail was given. The opportunity for exploring the erotic nature of the idea in this book was missed almost entirely, which was a shame.
Overall, this read well, if a little clipped, had a reasonable plot and had the beginnings of a good story with likeable characters. I only wish we were given more.

The Nameless One edition by Kathryn Meyer Griffith Dawne Dominique Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
First off... Thank you to the author for giving me a chance to review and hear the audio version of this book! It was very pleasing to hear it. Here is my honest review ....
I found it an interesting audio ... The nameless one was on the prowl to keep her looks by sucking the men dry of theirs; from the seems of it. What sucks is that the Lady couldn't save her hubby or bring him back, but I am glad she got revenge on that man sucking !^*# ..... But overall it was good! It's a must read or hear -)
Two Egyptologists ,Julian and Laura Bennet, are looking for the tomb of a 'lost lesser queen'.She was evidently LOST on purpose and entombed by a magical spell to keep her there.Susan Eichhorn Young does a wonderful job narrating this through Lauras eyes.We are taken through memories, curses, death and destruction. Will anyone survive this Queens wrath?Give it a listen."I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBlast or MalarHouse dot com"
The Bennets are Egyptologists and they are on the hunt for the tomb of a lesser known wife to a well known Pharaoh. She was a sensual magic user who was entombed and nearly erased from history for her wicked deeds. However, the Bennets are dedicated to finding her tomb and opening it.
Julian and Laura are persistent, I will give them that. Of course, in our modern day lives, where magic is all but dead, I too would not expect to false into an evil trap merely by opening an ancient tomb. This book felt like the opening chapters to a much longer story. We get just the barest hints of Egypt in the setting and there isn’t really time for sex. I say that because this book is billed as an erotica. (Please note that the author contacted me after reading my review and told me she did not write this to be an erotic story. However, I double checked my Audible edition and the book starts with ‘the Nameless One by Kathryn Meyer Griffith, an erotic short story’. Hence my expectations for the level of detailed sex.) What little sex there is, is hinted at in memory or in erotic hieroglyphs on the walls of the tomb. In order for a book to be erotica by my standard, I need at least one steamy, detailed, active sex scene. This book flirts with erotic elements, never fully takes the plunge. Which is another reason I felt this was a good lead in to a more expansive story.
This book definitely has a hint of mystery to it as well. The wicked lesser wife was chiseled out of history for evil deeds, deeds that are hinted at but not defined. So I definitely want to know more about her. Plus Julian and Laura have this lovely committed relationship, both as Egyptologists and as lovers. So I want to know more about their lives and past adventures.
If you read the blurb on this book, then you know that not all make it out of the book alive. Those left alive must hunt the now freed wicked sorceress. This is another reason I hope there are further books in this series. I couldn’t find a series on Goodreads or Audible, though there appears to be at least one other book set in modern day Egypt (different characters).
While this book left me wanting more, it also left far too many questions open for me to be satisfied with it.
Narration Susan Eichhorn Young did a great job as the narrator. The story is told through Laura Bennet’s voice and Susan was a perfect match for her. She had no hesitation during the scenes that contained erotic elements. She had distinct voices for all characters.
I really liked this short story. I really love reading anything at all to do with Egypt, but I was a little worried that I wouldn't like this one since it was so short and was listed as "erotic." My worries were for naught. This book is definitely erotic, but I wouldn't classify it as "pornographic." While some of the images were disturbing, it was more for the sake of horror. This book is about a wife and husband Egyptologist who go on an excavation to uncover the mystery surrounding a "sensual sorceress," lover to Ramses II, and so evil that she was buried without any clues to her identity. The whole premise of this book is so extremely fascinating to me. I listened to the Audible version, narrated by
Susan Eichhorn Young, and was pleased with the narration. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by her, and I will definitely read more books by Kathryn Meyer Griffith. If anyone is interested in paranormal fiction, or books that take place in Egypt, this is definitely worth your time.
